San Francisco, CA — May 14, 2013 — Talksum, Inc., a leader in high-speed data processing and management solutions, today announced its selection as a participant of the Skolkovo Foundation Innovation Center IT Cluster for its efficient approach to data management and analytics. The Skolkovo Innovation Center, often referred to as the Russian Silicon Valley, is a planned high-technology business area built at Skolkovo near Moscow.
The Skolkovo Foundation chose Talksum based on its ability to change the face of the market and introduce new, second-to-none products and technologies. Applicants for participation in the Skolkovo projects are considered by expert boards consisting of Russian and international scientists, venture investors, and entrepreneurs. Ten experts from the Center’s IT Cluster, who were selected from a general list by random sampling, take part in the consideration of each project.
“We are thrilled to be selected as a participant in such a prestigious organization, and to be among an impressive array of other leaders in the IT market,” said Alex Varshavsky, founder and CEO of Talksum. “We are excited to help develop the ecosystem model envisioned by Skolkovo to further innovate information technology in Russia.”
“The volume of data in corporate business grows by 30 to 40 percent every year according to different sources,” said Igor Bogachev, executive director of the Information Technologies (IT) Cluster, Skolkovo Foundation. “The Big Data problem has been already in the room for some time. We in Skolkovo do not neglect this major trend and give special support to the startups working in this field. The goal is to build the Big Data co-innovation sub-cluster in Skolkovo with the companies like Talksum and other residents. I trust that Talksum is one of the companies that will change the future landscape of the IT industry.”
Talksum recently introduced its flagship Talksum Data Stream Router, which was built to improve data acquisition, transformation, and management. The high-speed Data Stream Router formats data in real time, enriches the data by correlating events with other external sources, and has the ability to output to most external data stores.
The Talksum Data Stream Router is currently installed at Mail.ru, the largest Internet company in the Russian-speaking world and the leading Internet company in Russia, to aggregate and analyze network traffic in real time.
